At Temple Sinai, Israel has always had a special place in our congregants’ hearts and minds, and through the years, the interest, exposure, and commitment has increased and grown.
We have developed a strong partnering relationship with many of the Reform congregations in Israel, especially YOZMA in Modi’in and Ramot Shalom in Be’er Sheva, which continue to flourish and grow. We have been fortunate to have two young Israeli emissaries visit us each year, who make Israel very real for our students and the entire congregation.
A love of Israel is incorporated into our educational programs, celebration of festivals and support of Israel through charitable giving. As a congregation, we have taken many trips to Israel (both adult and youth), supported in many cases by our Temple funds.

Are you a Temple member of high school or college age?
Are you Planning a Reform educational experience in Israel?
If you can answer “yes” to the above questions or if you know someone who can, please call the Education Office (416.487.3281) to enquire about scholarships available from the Israel Special Projects Fund (ISPF).
Over the past years, we have been able to offer significant financial assistance to youth who participated in an Israel summer program as well as support our biennial March break trip to Israel with our young Temple members. The ISPF has also funded many other students for a wide variety of programmes ranging from one week to one year in Israel. Some trips include The March of the Living and Hebrew University.
