Rosemarie Hurst

Born and raised in New York City, Rosemarie Hurst relocated to Toronto when she married her husband, Sandy, fourteen years ago. Rose loves to travel and has benefited from living in many cities, including her hometown New York City, Boston, London, and San Francisco. She continues her love for travel with her family.

Sandy and Rose joined Temple Sinai in 2009, during which time Rose converted to Judaism. They have two daughters, and their family has always been active members of Temple.

Professionally, Rose has twenty years of expertise in insurance defence litigation and over ten years of in-house legal experience with the Canadian financial services sector. Rose started her legal career as a litigator in New York City until she relocated to Toronto, where she became licensed to practice law in Ontario. Today Rose is the Vice President of the Claims and Legal Departments for Pro-Demnity Insurance Company, the professional liability insurer for all architects licensed in Ontario. Rose started the in-house litigation department at Pro-Demnity and oversees a team of lawyers and insurance professionals focused in the construction sector.

Rose holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, where she graduated with Honours, and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Rose has also been an active board member of the Ledbury Park Child Care Centre since 2014, where both her daughters attended preschool and later on attended the after-school program.
