Shavuot Shabbat Mishpachah

Come and celebrate the joyous festival of Shavuot with a fun dairy feast that we will prepare together. Make your own decorations for Shavuot!
This Shabbat Mishpachah, we are celebrating the end of the Omer and receiving the Torah.
With two breakout rooms to learn from our clergy:
Aleph Group (Grade 1 and under): Sing, learn and have fun!
Bet Group (Grades 2 to 5): Explore, grow and engage
We will be preparing the BEST mac and cheese!
Vegan Mac & “Cheese”
Here is what you need:
3 tbsp margarine (or butter if you want)
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 cups milk of your choosing
1 cup shredded “Cheese” (Daiya, Earth Balance, or real cheese if you prefer)
1 medium baked and roasted sweet potato
Salt and pepper
1 box macaroni, tubetti, or whatever shape
1/4 cup panko crumbs
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Start boiling the water to start cooking the pasta as directed.
In a sauce pot, melt margarine, and add the nutritional yeast. Cook for 1-2 minutes
Add milk and cheese, on medium high heat melt the cheese until it’s almost dissolved
Add pieces of the soft sweet potato, and use an immersion blender until it’s smooth.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Put the macaroni into an oven safe vessel. Pour the cheese sauce over, and mix it in well. Top it with a sprinkle of paprika and cover it with panko.
Bake it for est. 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
To make your Shavuot decorations, you will need the following:
6 to 12 sticks – 9 to 12” long
