Tu B'Shvat: Mifgash with The Arava Institute Research Center

Thursday, January 28 at Noon

Learn first-hand about environmental leadership in the Middle East from Rabbi Michael Margaretten Cohen, a faculty member of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. Rabbi Margaretten teaches courses on conflict resolution, the Bible, and the environment. Cohen, the rabbi emeritus of the Israel Congregation in Manchester Center, Vermont, is the author of numerous articles that have appeared in the Middle East and the United States. He has a monthly commentary of the Torah reading of the week and a regular column in the Jerusalem Post called Letter from America.

The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is a leading environmental studies and research institute in the Middle East with a student body comprised of Jordanians, Palestinians, Israelis and participants from around the world. It houses accredited academic programs, research centers, and international cooperation initiatives focusing on a range of environmental concerns and challenges.

At the Institute the idea that nature knows no political borders is more than a belief. It is a fact, a curriculum, and a way of life.
