IN-PERSON SERIES WITH RABBI LAWRENCE ENGLANDER
The Shuk of Jewish Identity: Believing, Behaving, and Belonging
Wednesdays, April 26, May 3, 10 & 17 at 7.00 p.m.
There are many dimensions to our Jewishness including religious, cultural, historical and political aspects.
As Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel once taught, “More than we Jews need textbooks, we need text people”.
We invite you to take part in Rabbi Englander’s all-new 4-week course, to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be Jewish.
Rabbi Englander will engage you in interactive learning activities as well as thoughtful and respectful conversation on a series of complex issues. With a look at several contemporary Jewish sources, the discussions will center around these three topics:
Believing: What do we think about God and divine influence in our lives?
Behaving: How do we turn Jewish observances into mitzvot?
Belonging: How do we relate to the Jewish People world-wide? To the State of Israel?
No preparation necessary: just come and share your ideas with fellow Temple members!
