Omer Study
The teachings of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel
Saturdays, April 23 to June 4 at 12.00 p.m.
Rabbi Heschel z”l was one of the most important Jewish thinkers and rabbis of the twentieth century. His teachings focused on the challenges of modern life to humanity and spiritual flourishing: civil rights, political corruption, war, apathy, and religion itself. He challenged the Jewish community to engage in the world with spiritual awareness that he called “radical astonishment”.
Each week during the period of the Omer, between Passover and Shavuot, we will learn a short excerpt from his writings and discuss the continued relevance of his teaching.
