Heart disease remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality in our society, so how do we minimize our risk of heart disease, enjoy good health, and maximize the healthy time we have?
We’ll explore the ten most important things you need to discuss with your physician, to ensure your cardiovascular health is given the attention it deserves.
Join us for a brief talk, followed by a group discussion, with group lead and accomplished (recently retired) cardiologist Dr. Robert S. Nitkin MD FRCPC FACC.
Robert will touch on topics including a healthy heart diet, obesity, diabetes, and other notable conditions, along with, the role of exercise and required types of testing, to ensure a healthy life.
Robert, was a cardiologist at the Scarborough Hospital, Birchmount Campus, for 37 years. He trained at U of T’s Faculty of Medicine and at Stanford Medical Center in California. He’s a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine.
