Temple Sinai is thrilled to welcome author Raffi Berg to discuss his book, Red Seas Spies.
In the early 1980s, a new luxury holiday resort opened for business on a remote part of the Sudanese coast. Little did the vacationers know that the staff were undercover spies working for the Mossad. The book tells the true story of what began with one cryptic message pleading for help and turned into a secret evacuation of thousands of Ethiopian Jews in refugee camps to Israel. These events inspired the recent Netflix drama The Red Sea Diving Resort.
About the author:
Raffi Berg is a London-based journalist who serves as the Middle East editor of the BBC News website. A journalist for over thirty years, he has extensive experience reporting on Israel and the wider region. This is his first book.
