Student Parent/Guardian Staff

Attendance/Punctuality

• Attend school regularly • Promote regular attendance and being on time for class/school • Talk to (counsel) student when necessary
• Be on time • Notify the School Office if you know your child will be absent or late • Use attendance procedures
• Remain in supervised areas • Be an active part of your child’s learning • Develop and submit well developed lesson plans
• Confer with the teacher to support your child’s learning • Welcome parents as partners in education; support, encourage and invite parents’ active involvement

Participation

• Be courteous, kind and helpful to self, peers, school staff and parents • Support school functions • Communicate progress/special needs
• Use appropriate language • Supervise children to ensure all supplies are provided and brought to class • Give plenty of notice of school functions and cancellations
• Be courteous to all school staff • Be just, fair, courteous and consistent with all pupils/parents

Supplies

• Arrive at school with pencil, eraser, and necessary textbooks

Respect for Others

• Everyone has the right to work and learn without being disturbed • Share concerns with appropriate school personnel • Respect rights of pupils and parents
• Respect school rules • Foster respect for all members of the community • Provide a safe, secure learning environment
• Physical activity/ bullying/fighting will not be tolerated within the community • Reinforce safe play rules • Send child to office if being picked up early
• Provide a note and pick up your child at the School Office should early dismissal be required • Contact parents regarding pupil absence
• Reinforce safe play rules
• Contact parents regarding serious injuries

Respect for Property

• Respect private, community and school property and encourage this behaviour in others • Do not park in the driveway. Use the parking lot and on Sundays use the “drop-off zone” (see School Policies)
• Obtain the owner’s permission before taking or using the property of others
