Rabbi Ilan EmanuelRabbi Ilan Emanuel was born in the United States. At age 5 Ilan moved with his parents to the United Kingdom where his father was a rabbi of a Reform congregation in London. Ilan studied for the legal profession and worked as a solicitor in England before realizing that his true passion was Judaism. He returned to the United States to study at the Hebrew Union College—Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati. In August of 2005, he was installed as the Rabbi of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, the South Street Temple, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rabbi Emanuel excels as an adult education presenter and facilitator and works to share with others a passion for Judaism, learning, prayer, spirituality and social action. In his position as Rabbi, he believes that it is vitally important for all in the community, both Jewish and non-Jewish, to be connected and to learn from one another’s wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, interests, ideas and concerns. Rabbi Emanuel is married to Randi Froug Emanuel. They have a daughter, Mira (age 9).
